I developed this booklet using the teaching guides from my historical adventure novels, "Runaway At Sea" and "Adventurer At Sea"—both of which are action-adventure tales inspired by my ancestor's life.
COMING SOON! Specifically designed for students to explore The Age of Sail, an amazing time in history. From the 15th Century through the mid-19th Century, wooden ships propelled only by the wind were used for exploration, trade, and for nations to battle for power. Your students will have a blast finding "FUN FACTS", responding to writing prompts, and learning geography and naval navigation through engaging educational resources. Additionally, they can dive into historical adventure novels like 'Runaway At Sea' to further enhance their understanding of this fascinating era.
When my grandfather gave me the journal about my ancestor Robert's incredible trek across the world, it captured my imagination, and bringing his story of joy, heartbreak, and courage to life became a passion for me. My journey to becoming a published author of historical adventure novels has been filled with discovery. The most rewarding
When my grandfather gave me the journal about my ancestor Robert's incredible trek across the world, it captured my imagination, and bringing his story of joy, heartbreak, and courage to life became a passion for me. My journey to becoming a published author of historical adventure novels has been filled with discovery. The most rewarding moments are when I hear from readers how much they are engaged in Robert's story. I wrote the series, including Runaway At Sea, for readers age 9+ because I loved the idea of getting young readers excited about a true survival tale, especially one set during such an amazing time, the Age of Sail. I created educational resources, including teacher guides for each novel, to give educators tools and resources to build excitement for kids to learn more and apply that to everything else they are studying, like geography, mid-19th century history, climate change, creative writing, and the fascinating subject of naval navigation. Runaway At Sea and Adventurer At Sea are the perfect launching pads for learning. The teacher guides were the catalyst for me to develop more resources like my workbook series, 'Writing Fueled By Imagination.' This series includes a comprehensive creative writing workbook filled with original activities, writing prompts, and more to help kids ignite their inner storyteller. There's more to come, including workbooks for history, naval navigation, and geography. I thoroughly enjoy researching curriculum requirements and matching those to everything I create, all with the goal of providing teachers with easy go-to tools and for kids to really love exploring.
